A little community support goes a long way. In the five years since we started reaching out to the community for baby supplies we have been excited to discover all of the fantastic ways that local businesses are willing to help out an organization like ours. Surprisingly, we’ve found the best ideas are usually quite simple and also a lot of fun! And most importantly, they make a big difference for the families that we serve by raising money to buy diapers and making it possible for us to distribute other essential baby items to them.

In recent years we’ve been fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of a lot fun nights out with our community supporters. Kayla’s Creative Art Studio hosted 40 of our friends for an evening of wine and discovering our inner Van Gogh. We were honored to be the recipients of 10% of the Stirling Hotel’s monthly community supper a few months back. There have also been several occasions when we’ve been lucky enough to get a workout and a fundraiser all in one, like our evening at The Bar Method in Madison (I’m still feeling the burn!). The funds raised have ranged anywhere from $350 to upwards of $1000. All of these add up to a lot of diapers and dry bottoms for our families.

One of the best parts of these events is that we get to know the community and they get to know us. Each one brings out new supporters for Moms Helping Moms and often times new customers for these small businesses.

Stay tuned to see what fun we have next!
