In honor of the world’s first National Period Day held this past Saturday October 19th, Moms Helping Moms is excited to announce that we are now accepting and distributing period supplies to girls and women in need! 1 in 4 women have struggled to purchase period products in the past year due to insufficient income. Low income girls and women also report missing school and work due to lack of period supplies. And you can’t buy tampons or pads with food stamps. This is more than enough to make us want to take action!
Our initial distribution of period supplies has been made possible by a generous donation from Girls Helping Girls. Period. Please help this become a permanent addition to our services by donating new packages of tampons and pads, as well as individually wrapped items. Donations can be brought to our warehouse and community drop sites listed on our website. For more information about Period Poverty please visit: girlshelpinggirlsperiod.org and period.org.
